Apartment by Alessandri Architetti

The Italian firm Alessandri Architetti took on a complex project: transforming a former bakery inside an early 20th-century building into a residential apartment. From the start, the clients had very clear ideas about the layout they wanted from the renovation: a live-in kitchen, living room, a concealed and closable home office, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a laundry area. Alessandri Architetti successfully met all their requests by optimally redistributing the available space. The home office, in particular, was a specific request from the client, who needed a dedicated space to work from home without using the living room and having to clear away her computer and documents at the end of the day or when guests arrived. The office area was therefore designed to be connected to the living room and can be closed off using a door with two large sliding panels. To conceal the entrance, the “Madras” wallpaper was installed continuously across both the living room wall and the sliding doors. “Madras” is one of the wallpapers designed by artist MAD for Tecnografica’s Collaborations collection.
