RG House Project by Matteo Martini Architect

The studio Matteo Martini Architetto oversaw the redesign of a top-floor apartment in the Paolo Sarpi district of Milan (Italy). The goal of the project was to create an oasis of tranquility and peace in a notoriously lively neighborhood, while experimenting with new interior design solutions. The project was conceived as a spatial continuum defined by shades of grey for the walls and floors, and walnut-colored wood for the furnishings. The chosen style for the apartment is Japandi, a blend of Nordic austerity and warm tones inspired by Eastern influences. The entire home follows a minimalist approach. However, in the living room, to soften the severity of the sparse furnishings, Matteo Martini Architetto decided to install the “Livingstone” wallpaper. In keeping with the home's color palette, the jungle pattern of the wallpaper adds movement and depth to the space.
