At the heart of this project by architect Danijela Miskovic, the Fusuma Apartment in Belgrade is configured as a refined balance between Japanese aesthetics and contemporary functionality. The result is a space where simplicity combines with refinement, and every detail is designed to generate harmony and serenity.
The iconic element of the apartment is the living room wall, inspired by traditional Japanese Fusuma panels, covered with the “Mon Cherry Blossom” wallpaper by artist Marco Fontana for Tecnografica, in the Platinum color variant. The design depicting cranes, cherry blossoms and a sunset evokes the delicacy of silk and paper, transforming the wall into a narrative image that enriches and gives depth to the entire room.
The bedrooms follow the same principle of harmony and functionality, enhanced by the “Mikado” wallpaper, in two different color variations: Ivory for one room, with neutral and restful tones, and Petroleum for the other, which introduces a more intense but equally relaxing shade.
Overall, Fusuma Apartment is not an environment that wants to amaze, but to welcome. Its strength lies in its coherence and calm, in the ability to blend aesthetics and comfort.
