“We ask questions. It’s in our nature. How did we get here? Are we alone in the universe? How does the universe work? The James Webb Space Telescope is a bold scientific endeavor to answer these questions.”
This is how the website www.webbtelescope.org introduces the groundbreaking scientific mission that began on December 25, 2021, with the launch of the James Webb Space Telescope. The entire project is the result of an international collaboration between the U.S. Space Agency (NASA), the European Space Agency (ESA), and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA).
The JWST is the largest telescope ever sent into space and, thanks to its cutting-edge infrared technology, it further expands the horizons opened by its predecessor, the Hubble Telescope. The new telescope was built for numerous objectives across astronomy, astrophysics, and cosmology.
Specifically, the Webb Telescope allows scientists to study: the structure of the universe, furthering theoretical research on dark matter; the origin and evolution of the first galaxies; the birth and formation of stars and planets; the development of planetary systems and the conditions necessary for life.
The results obtained in its first year of activity are astounding. This is clearly demonstrated by the spectacular images delivered by JWST and shared daily with the global community by the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) along with the participating Space Agencies.
With the authorization of STScI, a scientific institution established by NASA, Tecnografica dedicates a series of original graphic subjects to these thrilling milestones in human knowledge. Webb Telescope is the new collection of decorative panels that brings the wonders of deep space into the most forward-thinking projects of contemporary interior design.
Cosmic Cliffs, Tarantula Nebula, Pillars of Creation, Magellano Stellar Mass, Sagittarius, Chamaeleon I, and Rho Ophiuchi reproduce the namesake infrared photographs captured by the Webb Telescope and processed by experts to recreate the breathtaking colors we are privileged to admire today.
Tecnografica’s decorative panels are the perfect medium for these extraordinary images, which can be printed in ultra-high definition on all available finishes: from the elegant layered glass of Dècora Glass to the backlit surfaces of Dècora LED and Dècora Glass Backlit.
