Italy’s artistic, historical, and cultural heritage is among the richest in the world. To honor one of the most famous and admired architectural structures in the world, Tecnografica has created an exclusive wallpaper collection in collaboration with the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano, the historic institution responsible for the preservation and promotion of the Cathedral.

The Veneranda Fabbrica was founded in 1387 by Gian Galeazzo Visconti, the Lord of Milan at the time, with the mission to design and build the Cathedral — which has since become a universal symbol of the city. From that moment on, this historic institution has remained dedicated to the conservation, restoration, and enhancement of the Duomo and its vast artistic heritage.

With over six centuries of history within its walls, the Duomo di Milano holds a collection of invaluable documents and works of art — truly unique in its kind. Thanks to this collaboration, Tecnografica had the privilege of exploring these extraordinary archives to select some of the remarkable graphic elements preserved in the Fabbrica’s historical materials.

Thus was born the Duomo di Milano Wallpaper Collection, spanning from ancient architectural drawings of the spires to the vibrant colors of frescoes; from the study of intricate floor decorations to vintage photographs of the Cathedral’s unmistakable flying buttresses — all preserved within the archives of the Veneranda Fabbrica. An emotional journey back in time that allows us to relive the dedication of architects, sculptors, and stonemasons at work during their most industrious days, tracing the origins of a story that has continued for more than 630 years.
