Vittorio Giardino is considered one of the most refined Italian comic artists. A former engineer, he abandoned his profession at the age of 31 to pursue his passion for comics. Well-known internationally, his works have been translated and distributed in eighteen countries.
Giardino is a master of the “Linea Chiara” (Clear Line) graphic style and moves freely across genres — from detective stories (Sam Pezzo) to spy thrillers (Max Fridman), from erotic tales (Little Ego) to coming-of-age narratives (Jonas Fink).
His linear, precise drawing style, his methodical approach, meticulous attention to detail, historical research, and carefully constructed plots are the key elements of his art.
In the illustrations chosen by Vittorio Giardino for Tecnografica, two recurring themes dear to the artist emerge: the sea and the female figure.
About the sea, Giardino says: “I love being in it, above it, beneath it, and even through it. I love that straight horizon line that hides what lies beyond and lets me imagine it. I love its scent, announcing itself from afar before I even see it. I love its sound, which, even at night, tells me what mood it’s in — calm or restless.”
The women of Giardino’s comics — now also featured on Tecnografica wallpapers — are among the most captivating ever drawn. The contours of their faces, the lines of their eyes and hair, the slender grace of their figures, and the femininity radiating from their gaze exude a delicate brilliance and unattainable sophistication.
Tecnografica is honored to enrich its Collaborations with a series of wallpapers signed by Vittorio Giardino, one of the most celebrated masters of contemporary auteur comics.
