Marco Fontana was born in Sassuolo (MO) in 1968. Since childhood, he has shown a strong talent for drawing, especially in the field of comics.
He attended the Art Institute of Modena and, in his free afternoons, collaborated with the well-known cartoon production company Bignardi Films, where, from 1983 to 1988, short films such as RAI Quark Economia (by Bruno Bozzetto) and Il Signor Bonaventura (by Sergio Tofano) were produced.
During those same years, he actively collaborated with the newspaper Il Resto del Carlino, creating Monday comic strips and cartoons for both the city of Modena and the Italian editions. He also worked with several other local and national publications, producing the series Wondernonna, which was also presented at Lucca Comics in 1991.
He later went through a long period of inactivity, during which he only produced occasional works and focused on packaging design and advertising.
In 2008, he resumed his artistic career and exhibited in Ferrara his erotic paintings from the Pop-Hard series, created with enamel techniques.
